Get Ugly Duckling Presse’s 2011 Anthology of 249 performances! The Photo Response Writing Group performance is in it, among many other gems like Jess Barbagallo’s Karen Davis Does the Club.

At the release party I performed a correspondence edited into an interview with Ohad Ben Shimon, whose performance The Mirror Stage is documented in the anthology. Alex DeCarli played the part of Ohad. As of now, there are no pictures of this event. I forgot to get a picture.

Reading Room at Berkeley Art Museum March 16

On March 16, at 5.30pm in Berkeley CA I’ll be reading new work of lectures and newsflashes on photography in the Reading Room at BAM.

“The Reading Room is a temporary project dedicated to poetry and experimental fiction offering visitors the chance to take home a free book drawn from the overstock collections of several noted East Bay small presses, including Kelsey Street Press, Atelos Books, and Tuumba Press. Books and catalogs from Small Press Distribution will also be available. In turn, visitors are asked to replace that book with one from their own library. As part of selected Friday night L@TE programs throughout winter and spring, The Reading Room will be the site of literary readings (RE@DS) co-curated by poet/author David Brazil and Suzanne Stein, poet, publisher, and community producer at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.”

Why I Make Live Art at the Invisible Dog in Brooklyn

WHY I MAKE LIVE ART (WHEN I’M NOT MAKING THE OTHERS) will be an evening of current explanations by contemporary performance makers around the siren call of “liveness” in art practice. The diverse panel will include poet-playwrights, actors moving between the film and stage, conceptual artists and others who situate their collective work under the auspices of multiple genres. Artists will present prepared statements and manifestoes in response to the evening followed by a moderated conversation with curator Jess Barbagallo.
