Immediate Release: The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Pfc. Shawn D. Gajdos, 25, of Grand Rapids, Mich., died June 6 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using improvised explosive devices and small arms fire.
