I was two or three and I was at Disney World in LA with my family, my
parents and my grandma. My dad's parents. There are all the characters
there and I was big on meeting the characters. I was a big fan of goofy.
The last thing I remember before this was I fell off a fifteen-foot slide
when I was one. Thatís the first thing I remember of my childhood. I was
fat, it was a metal slide. I was using my largeness to slow down. I was
wearing shorts on a metal slide. Goofy picked me up and you know everyoneís
taking pictures and I remember this: he picks me up and you know, I was
only two years old but, I remember this. He said hey kid, no one will
believe that I spoke to you. And I said, Goofy just talked to me, and
no one believed me. I was afraid of everything in my life. My parents
had to censor movies. I was afraid of My Little Pony, The Hogan Family;
it was a show with the guy on Arrested Development now. Teddy Ruckspin
I was scared of because he had two friends that when they got angry they
would turn into monsters. My Little Pony, they were flying horses and
I associated that with birds. If a bird could poop on you, imagine what
a horse could do. My favorite thing about Disneyland was when people would
buy me the figurines, my dad's parents would. Snow White was my favorite.
I had crushes on girls when I was really young. I never went through the
cootie phase. I remember the woman at the castle after Main Street. My
uncle proposed to his fiancÈe who is now wife inside the courtyard of
that castle. My family still doesn't believe me. Very few people remember
this even happened. I remember things like the smell of my mom smelling
like cigarettes because she used to smoke more back then. I remember Goofy's
costume, how it felt, the bodies between the clothes. I have very strong
memory. I remember the doctors looking at me after the slide and my dad
running and being terrified.
